Jeremy
Roberts, Sgroup member, was the music supervisor for the Broadway musical
'Jekyll and Hyde' that played at the Plymouth Theater in 1997. He needed
to control the sampler from quite a distance and did some tests. He found
out that the mouse would still work with a 200 ft cable provided the RC-100
was used as well. Impressive! |

The
performing artists company 'Le Cirque du Soleil' was using six S-760 during
their 'Dralion' US tour. Richard Oberacker (band leader) had three, Stephen
Poulin (keyboards) had two and Marco Venditti (drums) had one. The guitar
player, Christian Sylvestre, was using two VG-8. |

Quoted
from a Roland Japanese engineer who worked on the S samplers: "For
our concept for the S series sampler, since the S-50 was released, we designed
our samplers as musical instruments. TVF and TVA, and as you see, SMT (sample
mix table) is an archetype for all of the Digital Synthesizers now in use.
And MOUSE and RGB interfaces go on VS-2480's VGA/MOUSE operations.".
